Default Spongy brakes/fluid leak on my '93 Legend

Hi All,

I have had a re-occuring brake issue now for about 6 months... and I was hoping someone might be able to guide me in the right direction.

When I bought my Legend, the mechanic at the small dealership I purchased my car from was supposed to take care of my spongy brakes... well, after 5 different attempts to let him fix the issue, my brakes sill don’t function as they should - and needless to say I have little faith in his ability to fix the problem.

Here’s what’s going on: I notice brake fluid puddles under the front passenger side of my vehicle. If I maintain the fluid level, they work decently well… but this situation is obviously not very desirable, since it’s probably not the safest and I feel bad I am leaking chemicals all over the place… The detail that has me confused is now that it is cold out, the leak has stopped. The leak comes back when the weather is warm.

The last time he attempted to address the issue, the above mentioned mechanic told me that I have a complicated master cylinder issue that he does not have the proper tools to fix…

What should I check out first given the location of my leak/puddle? Are there any common brake issues for a ’93 Legend I should be aware of?

Thanks for your input/advice!

Jenny

first is locate exactly where the leak coming from.

full the fluid up, have someone press the pedal down and look for the leak, chances are there's a leak around the ABS unit, or one of the lines at the unit.

Welcome to the fam! I agree with Alex in getting a partner to help out. Its easier to fix a leak if you can see where its coming from. Temp changes affecting it does sound like a line or a fitting at a connection.
