Smile Rim size and tires

Hey guys, I have a 93 Coupe and planned on putting 17x17.5 rims on her. my concern was, what tire size can i put on these rims without rubbing, but looks and still handles good. Also im not clear with offset and i dont want to use spacers, so what offset will bring them out a little. please any suggestions will help me.

The wheel shouldn't poke out at all. 235/45 are fine too IMO won't rub at stock height. Mines is sitting on 17x7 +37 and sits just inside fenders w/ no rubbing even at turns. Hope this helps
