Ugh..... another Safelite go-around? May not have a choice, last time with old sedan I wasn't very happy with trim and possibly dashboard damages.

Yep, better take some good pics of the dash before they work on the windshield.

Don't you have a choice in who does the repair? The insurance company can recommend a glass repair company, but you should be able to make the decision on who does that repair.

$500 deductible applies so I can do whatever. Spoke with rep. Last time I had any real detailed conversation with an insurance rep was a while back but I remember our old comprehensive coverage included repairing windows no charge. I'll be checking again.

Don't know of any other local window installing service. I wouldn't drive it and it looks bad enough I'm holding off on removing ezpass until right before working on the window. A few bits of light reflections from specks of glass on dashboard; I think I'll have to cover up on the inside prior to window removal. If worth it I'd see about having it towed to a glass place (but also wonder if bumps of moving onto flatbed tow would cause additional shattering into the passenger compartment).

Get a mobile service to come and replace it in your driveway.

Yes - that would be Safelite. I just don't know of an alternative; I'll be calling them in advance to see how it can be done properly without causing additional issues.

Not sure up there, but around here there are many mobile windshield people other than safelight.
