Default G2, RL, TL Auto/Manual Quaife LSD open GB

Several Member's were interested in our currently availability of any LSD options for the G2. This eventually evolved into contacting Quaife http://www.quaifeamerica.com/. They are very reputable, especially in the BMW/Mercedes realm. Here are some links to their reputation and some background of Quaife.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100072

Some of the rumblings from the Honda world on Quaife:
http://honda-tech.com/road-racing-au...u-lsd-2976294/

From BMW performance site:
http://www.birdsauto.com/content/how...e-atb-superior

Here is a little video of what a Limited Slip Differential does and its workings.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeLm7wHvdxQ&app=desktop

Cliff's notes:

Upside to helical:
1.) Never locking, always adjusting
2.) prevents lockup on launch, therefore preventing exploding unlike clutch based
3.) No maintenance required, good because it's a pain for us to get to the diffy.
4.) Cost is based on amount of materials needed for casing (insides are usually the same as a lot of other applications).
5.) Drag option available? Makes the "catch" less, therefore putting less stress on the lsd.
6.) lasts a lot longer than clutch based systems, a lot longer.

Downside:
1.) Upon wheelhop or extremely hard turns in autox, the lsd won't work if one wheel is in the air. Usually corrected with a little braking.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We need a minimum of 10 buyer's. As long as part number 6 in the diagram below can be dropped between the two, it is only one part, with minimum of 10 buyers. If they are also the same on the RL and first Gen TL then that may open up the door for us getting to the 10 easier.

Initial pricing is in the range of $900-$1,200, however, was told that the high side would probably NOT be the case. Plus, the more we can round up, the cheaper the price. Same with every other group buy. This is in a similar range of $ for what Hondaman was making, so this is not outrageous.

This is confirmed to work on G2, RL

All g2, 96-04 RL and 96-98 3.2 TL. CONFIRMED. Part #41310-PY4-020. confirm here if you like:http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/home.jsp

ALSO RECOMMEND USING THE DIFF FROM MANUAL AS IT IS CAST IRON.
I know this is a lot of money. I have not yet discussed how payment needs to be handled with Joshua at Quaife as of yet. This is TBA. HOWEVER, as this is a large amount, I will get this figured out ASAP. I for one, would like for Quaife to manage this end. Sound off below, but for now TBD.

Quaife stated this is a 12-16 week job from payment. Joshua also stated that they understand the GB pains, etc and from the phone convo that took place with Abe, he was a very cool guy. So I see this being a very fluid process.

What we need is to get to 10 AT LEAST. The target to TO PAY I would like to start at the end of February and run until middle of March, maybe the end.

A lot of this has been discussed on the Facebook page here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/2219..._comment_reply which can only be seen if you are a member of the forum I BELIEVE.

This is my first main control of this so, if I left something out or something is posted wrong, PM me.

Who's ready for some LSD???? AND NO, THIS IS NOT RWD

Yep!

Also added to Acurazine for the RL guys, let's see if they delete it, lol.

They have a damn good LSD, and there are pro's and con's to both helical vs clutch. We would really benefit from the helical, I truly believe that one. Plus, since it's a pain in the ass to take out the diff, not having to maintain it, ever, would be a real plus. Limited lifetime warranty too.

Joshua at Quaife was a pleasure to talk to, should be a good gb.
