Switch to 5 spd flywheel and clutch

Benefits of weight savings and being able to resurface the single mass flywheel also typically cheaper clutches.

ya, the DM flywheel is dreamy smooth but anyone who has one ain't letting it go since they've been discontinued. They were around 1200.00 new and I suspect there are only a half dozen shelved new ones represented in this forum.

The used 5MT flywheel is about your only option.

I have a 6-speed flywheel, used condition. I can offer resurfacing for about $50 as well. PM me if you're interested.

I thought the 6-speed flywheel could not be re-surfaced?

If not, I'm unaware. Never tried.

I don't think the DM flywheel will turn properly on a lathe due to the dampening mechanism being built in. We never had one turned at the shop back in the day. There might be an apparatus that will do the job correctly but that's not my specialty so I have no authoritative knowledge of how it would be accomplished.

There are some people that call buffing out the surface with a scotch pad on a zizwheel "resurfacing" but it's not. (That's just "cleaning it up")
