Looks like a Legend with 2 occupants in their 20s were injured after falling victim to a street race between a couple Mustangs in Texas. Hopefully these aren’t members here, but if they are we hope they get better soon.

I'm in Texas right now visiting my parents. I am NOT familiar with any of the areas mentioned nor did I see/hear this on the news. Texas is a HUGE state so I could be anywhere from a few miles away to 15 hours away. Hopefully the young Acura occupants have a full and speedy recovery. It disturbs me that the report says "its a lesson for young drivers" when CLEARLY it says the knucklehead driving the Mustang that killed himself and the SUV driver was in his 40s. He KNOWS better and should have taken that "business" to a track where he should have been able to afford the admission price. This area of Texas I'm in was DEAD quiet all day and he should have been home with his family as well. Now he just ruined at least 3 families lives.

Maybe I'm just a contrarian, but unless the mustang ran a light it appears to me the SUV driver shares in the blame because he pulled out in front of another vehicle. The fact that it was a T-bone, along with the massive damage suggests that the SUV pulled out so close in front of the mustang that the mustang wasn't able to brake at all.
Given that traffic frequently flows at 10 to 15 mph above posted limits (due to limits being set improperly low, per the 85th percentile rule set forth in the MUTCD) had the mustang been travelling at 60 instead of 90, he might have had time to hit the brakes, but would have still hit the SUV. Sure, the damage would have been less, and the drivers might have survived, but it was still the SUV that violated the right of way. -Kennon |

Very sad. I don't see a Legend in there though. That's a cashmere 1999-00 TL.

Yeah such a shame. Tyson is right- looks like a 99-2001 TL.
