The new "used" sedan. Like I used to say, Uncle Wizmo's new used car.

Parked in it's spot the first time Sunday night:

Seems the same as it always was tonight:

Truth is, even with the 236,000+ miles, with all that work done, no issues with body rust, just having to do "routine"* maintenance going forward, that price is definitely worth it!

* "routine", that is, for an Acura Legend!

I was very happy with the deal I got on my coupe, right away it was roadworthy as a daily driver, but I know the cost of replacing certain parts whether for brakes, suspension, etc., and especially the body work to eliminate the worst offenses of rust (which will add longevity to the life of the car) has put the cost of my coupe on a par or exceeding the $6500 asking price of Alan's GS. And, I still have a way to go if I would further enhance my coupe to put it on a par with the condition of Alan's GS. Maybe I'll do it someday, but I'll have to stop daily driving it to work to the Bronx before I'd take that plunge (and I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel for that)....

Hey thanks you all! Here's some pictures of the sedan about town earlier this evening:

I think I'm going to let the NALM dust settle into the finish then I'll preserve it that way....

Default Sedan back story, sort of....

To get the full effect of my sedan’s transformation go to Alan’s restoration thread:

http://forums.acuralegend.org/93-can...on-t34498.html

However, for those of us just wanting the down and dirty details…..

Alan gives me a call sometime near the beginning of June to ask me if I wanted to replace my Canterbury Green sedan, which if you aren’t already aware of, we’ve owned since new in 1993, and our daughter, the Legend Killer had finally done it in last May. There had been some discussions about my willingness or unwillingness to replace the sedan and it probably became obvious that I’d only consider a matching pair of Canterbury Green Legends if I’d up the ante and get back into a second Legend, namely, Canterbury Green, automatic transmission, sedan “L”, type I OK, even cloth better than leather. Alan told me only difference between my original Canterbury Green sedan and this one is that the "new" sedan has leather and my original was cloth. He advises me that it’s a special car that needs a special owner…. He should have been a salesman back in the old days.

We were talking a bit about the car and I agreed that if we did the deal I’d help Alan with transportation costs, and as soon as I was advised of the cost I knew it was from interior California or Arizona or somewhere in that region. Alan gave me the option of contacting the owner to get the car directly but I knew that if I did that the “restoration” would be piecemeal at best and I would probably get into trouble. Alan’s efforts in terms of the value – added intangible he brings to the table could not and can never be fully appreciated in terms of costs.

Alan gets the car from Tyson:

Tyson says goodbye:

Sedan rolls into Legend Land garage:

Stuff happens in garage:

Sedan is ready for me to pick up and drive to NALM:

And there you have it!
