I don't feel like registering on a Honda Accord forum, so I want to see if any of you know what, if any, accord engines are a direct replacement for an F22A6(other than F22A6). The F22A6 is very hard to find. Not trying to do a swap, I need a direct replacement.

Just a guess, but wouldn't an H22A motor and tranny swap in direct with a reflash? Or you might need to swap the ECU and harness.
Otherwise, I think you'd have to stick with the F series 2.2 liters motors.

F23 should be a direct swap.

iirc H22 will still require mounts and other stuff to make it work.

Sorry about it being in the wrong place......

I need an engine that will drop right in with no modifications. It's a 92 Accord EX. The current engine that's in it is the f22a6. The accords have so many engine variations, it's confusing. The reason I'm replacing the motor is because the cam shaft seized on it breaking the timing belt. When I was changing the timing belt, that's when I noticed the cam shaft wouldn't move for me to set the timing. I'm not sure what caused it to sieze, so I didn't want to take a chance with replacing the head(because the initial problem could still be there).

F22A4 is a direct drop in, only reason I know is because I went through 3 f22a* motor before going to an H22A

f22a4 and f22a1 will need their respective ecu's and (i think) wire harnesses. At least the ecu definitely. f22a6 has IABs which is not on the other two motors. However, any f22 or f23 will mount to the stock transmission, as well as H motors.

Don't mean to sound like an idiot, but what is IAB's?
So, basically, I can get an f22a4 or a1 as long as I have an ECU to match?
