Thanks for posting Brian....

Yes, for those who haven't heard, James passed earlier this evening due to complications from a stroke he had about 12 days ago.

I have been messaging with his wife Kiley and she is with family right now.

I don't know what the arrangements will be thus far for his funeral services, but updates will come as they progress.

If youd like to contribute to help his family in this time, a GoFundMe was setup to help:

Yeah getting a text after midnight from another OG about this was tough. My condolences to the family.

Service/Reception for James will be this Sunday January 20th at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home 1370 El Camino Real Colma 94014 in the Tiffany Chapel 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

The funeral service will also be at Cypress Lawn, on Tuesday January 22 10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Tiffany Chapel. He will be buried in the Sage lawn, this is right next to the Tamarack lawn, in case you would like to head straight there on Tuesday.

This is terrible news! I remember when I first encountered James - he knew very little about cars in general, and he wound up being one of the most knowledgeable G1 guys on the forum. And he was always the first to step in when someone needed help. We did a few deals over the years, and he was as honest a guy as you'd ever hope to meet, so much so that we'd ship each other parts and worry about the payment later. I don't visit the forum much anymore, but I always looked forward to his posts when I did.

Thanks guys, for letting us know. Condolences to and prayers for his family...

I hate hearing of this.

In my dealings with him he always seemed like a cool and stand up guy.

Prayers for his family, for comfort and strength.

Very much a big thanks to Brian for posting about James. "Gone too soon" isn't even applicable to me currently.
The selfish side of me is really sad I never met James to shake his hand. He was a good man and husband to his lovely wife Kiley. I presume children too.

RIP G1 Legend - Legend James De La O 1984-2019

I hope it’s not too late to add my condolences here. Im not frequent on the site but this man was so helpful and willing to communicate with a stranger. His kindness and sincerity could be felt from afar. My heart goes out to all who loved him
