Arrow 12 point vs. 6 point sockets..........

The weather is finally good so I have been doing things I didn't get to do last winter. ( rear hub etc) I picked up a 3/4" jumbo socket set and didn't realize until getting home that it's twelve point.hgeez:

This kit will be used for axles, hubs etc. should I return it? The last thing I want to be dealing with is stripped nuts/bolts.

Always use a 6 point unless you need a 12 point. The 12 point will strip, crack and jump off the nut/bolt easier. (not necessarily in that order)

^Agreed, but sometimes, especially working on aircraft, 12 point is a must.

Nice!
I've never ran into issues with the 12 points, but when it comes to my "good tools" SK, Snap On, etc. I always make sure I get 6 point. Generally my tools last, except I went through two snap on torque wrenches, and a MAC tap & die set.

I used to buy Husky for the smaller stuff but I believe they are China made now.

12 points are great for small stuff but if you want to break loose a tight bolt switch to a 6 point
