Default Virginia backroads

I go to college in southwest virginia and the roads around here are amazing. Curvy, hilly, and great views. I've made a few gearhead friends and we "tour" the roads from time to time. I'll post up any of the good pictures I get.

just to get started....

Very nice; I occasionally do Skyline Dr./Shenandoah National Park and that goes down in your direction. Where are you going to school? If you're anywhere near Charlottesville, we should meet up for cruises sometime along the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I go to virginia tech, which is south of Roanoke.

And those really are some nice roads too. I've only been there in an SUV but it must be awesome in a more agile car. When I have my car next year I'll let you know, I'd definitely be down for that. I might say the RL could be a bit slow compared to your rides

Ah yeah then you're really deep on I-81 hahah well if you guys are down, Charlottesville is roughly halfway between where you're at and here in DC. I'd be down to come out that far for a car meet ~ and maybe even all the way to Blacksburg if I get enough advance notice and it'll be a good showing.

Also since you're at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, I just wanted to show you my license plate:

I won't remind you about a certain football game that occurred last fall...

But if you're okay with driving all the way down here, the car club here at tech puts on a car show every year in the fall and spring. The one this spring is a Saturday towards the end of april if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure the guys here would love to see your cars! Also involves a cruise of the local roads. If you're interested I can give you more info.

Isn't skyline drive only like 30mph though, that sucks being so low.

Just PM us with info; I'm interested in all sorts of drives in the mountains.

The speed limit isn't very high but that's fine. Shenandoah isn't super-twisty anyways and lends itself better to a relaxed cruising atmosphere.

Yeah, I'll definitely PM you guys with some info. I'm sure the club would love to see your guys cars.

And I live in bucks county! None of these are mine, I've got an 01 RL that isn't at school with me this year. Not that it would do any good in the mountains anyway. I actually am looking at selling it for something more fun and would love a 5/6 speed legend if I could find one with 110-150k. $7k budget if anyones got any ideas.

One I took recently... Not much great driving going on in the freezing cold.
