why not cut and shape your own new metal after the "banging" out period, you certainly have the skills to do it, so why not?

I don't have all the tools I would need to fabricate this whole section, especially without cutting it off and welding it back on which would require taking the rear glass out among other things that I really didn't want to fool with (on a car that's only worth, what, 4 or 5 K at the most?). If I broke that backglass, that's another 600-700$ to replace...didn't want the risk.

That being said, I still got the original metal pretty straight. The fiberglass at the thickest point is less than 1/4 inch, and that's only above the wheel well where I could not get the crease out all the way. Hard to access that area with PDR tools. If this were done at another body shop, insurance would have totaled it, and it would have a salvage title issued on it no matter how the repair was done, so screw it. Don't want to put too much time and effort into a daily driver that's probably gonna get whacked again the way people drive around here, lol.

Thanks fellas....and as for the color...you're the first to ask!

It's gonna be a two-tone. The factory color (Cashmere Silver) will still take the upper portion. Everything from the pinstripe down will be a newer Acura color known as both Mayan Bronze or Root Beer Metallic, the latter name being the most descriptive term. You may have seen this color on a 2010-2013 TL....

Then planning on having a friend of mine who does pinstripe by hand put some stripe on...either bright red or cream white...or both.
