They do appear to be identical in the RL and Legend service manuals:

I dont think it was mentioned: Starters are different, but an RL starter CAN be used in a Legend. However, I would not recommend it be a permanent thing. It seems that the RL starter is "weaker" than the Legend's. This winter, when it got real cold out, the RL starter had trouble turning my Type II engine and getting it to start. Replaced with a proper Legend starter and no more problems. The RL starter had turned my 3.5 just fine.

The RL starter has a smaller coil, so it maybe weaker. Over all its a slimmer longer starter, where as the Legends is fater and shorter.

I choose the RL one over the Legend since it gave me more room to build the headers & turbo manifolds........

The RL starter is all i've ever used and its worked great.

I need some clarification on something, when you say the exhaust manifold have a different part number, different shape but compatible... does that mean that they will actually work and will bolt on w/o a problem and w/o throwing any sort of code and whatnot? If they do work w/o a problem then I just might join a certain GB..

Going back to my "never ending" engine swap thread, it seems the "engine stiffener" bracket from the 3.2 is incompatible with the RL motor I've got (driver's side, under the starter) the bolts are close but all 3 on top won't go in. Is this because of the revision to the mid mounts? Also, swappers save your 3.5 EGR pipe, the 3.2's don't line up indirectly b/c of the increased deck height.
