Default Door detent / checker

*** 7 years after the last post ***

Did this at the JY today. One round clip was already out and then I broke the other one prying it out (24 year old plastic). I could recommend taking the black plastic cover on top of the slider off before whacking the pin with a hammer.

I hit the pin with a hammer a bunch of times which damaged the under side of the plastic. THen my small pry bar for plastic clips broke trying to lever the pin out. Drenched the hinge and pin with penetrating fluid and 2 thunks later out it popped. Using a drift tool and tape to protect the paint might be good ideas on your own car.

Thanks to the awesome wiki; great pictures. I would never have tried to do this otherwise.
