Default Rear control arm custom bushings

Post from 2006 december. This was a one time work. Bushings were machined from 80A polyurethane rod. After 2 years they are holding up great!

The old ones:

Old one:

new one:
I add big washers at the ends because the oem has built in washers in the bushings. And without the washers it'll be able to slide out.

so nice! Is it possible you have measurements for these? If so I can take em with me to see if any universal bushings are available that would work.

I don't have any infos because this wasn't my work.
But you can buy poly rods get some used control arms, press or cut out the bushings etc... machine shop can do the rest. Time and money as always.

At each bushing location they are two pieces, correct? One bushing pressed in at each side. I guess that poly rod was purchased and trimed down some way in order to achieve proper fitment. Do you know the process as to how these bushings were fabricated? I would like to try this for myself, however I am concered that I just dont have the proper tools to achieve all the required sizes and openings.

Thanks for any help that you may be able to provide.

All these achievements from Hungary, South Korea..etc and no one is able to provide backup for such kick ass modifications...I just dont get why everything is such a secret.

Machine shop can do this when you supply a sample (used control arm) they can take measurements and mill the poly. They are two pieces that's the easier way and this method is ok for the rear arms.

The whole process took long time and money, prototypes etc... and this is not diy job you cannot remove the factory bushings without lots of tools and 20T shop press.

Just fyi we've been working on the front bushings more than a year.

R&D is $$$ want to see more?

Very nice. Family_Man on .com did some DIY front polyurethane bushings a little while ago (and I believe there are measurements for those in the thread).

Edit: I see you'd linked your rear ones in that thread as well
