Default My next Project=help

Ive been searching and searching and ive seen alot of talk about porting and polishing. I just cant PM everyone whos done it and ask all the questions id like.
I plan on P&P my heads and Type2 intake manifold but im just curious to know if and or what il be needing to do after that?
Can i run it as is even after P&P or will i have to run dyno tests and tweek the computer, thats what im guessing id have to do but it'd would sweet if someone could give me some good advice or info. Also if anyone knows the best way to go through with this project?

well it depends on how much money you want to spend, port and polishing is going to do very little if you don't have other supporting mods.
If your going to go through all the hassle of taking off your heads as well as the intake manifold to have them p&p, its worthless unless you have an aftermarket air intake and some sort of free flowing exhaust (2.5" tubing). I would start with those mods first. Then get your self an SR5guy chip to better utilize these modifications (search this forum for more info on the chip). Those are just some mods I would get before p&p anything.

I dont plan on taking them off myself, itl take me probably twice as long and i dk what i would be doing, and i have about 1000 to put towards it.
My other mods are Weapon R intake... Type2 intake manifold... OBX hearders with the test pipe.. and then 2 3/4 exhaust out to the back, Magnaflow muffler. Then i have a Venom Chip, and Lighten Pulley.
So this is why im pushing for this project.

Lose the venom chip and get one of the two guys on here to burn you a real chip. Then if your serious get an Apexi SAFC.
Get yourself on a dyno and have the AFC tuned.
IMHO, I would spend the money on a 5spd clutch kit converstion, or WEBcams than the P&P.

The work I did on my heads and intake seemed to have performed quite well. A lot of my work was gasket matching and smoothing more than porting and polishing. You need good titanium carbide grinding bits ($170-200) and a P&P sanding kit ($20-40).

I looked up a few different methods online, I can find them if you're serious about doing it.

if you are looking for power Forced Injection is the way to go. Might be a bit more expensive but well worth it. its very expensive to get additional HP out of a N/A 3.2 or 3.5. Trust me!!

^ I assume you mean forced induction, Legend are already injection, and anyways dumping more fuel into the cylinders would just make it run rich. Force induction will cost you several more thousand than 1, I assure you that much.

honestly, i didn't spend very much getting my car into 13's NA haha if you have a good plan and don't waste money pointlessly its not very expensive to make the legend pretty quick. A must have are webcam regrinds, intake, exhaust and chip. With the mods I have, I still beat the 1/4 mile times of most members on this forum that run nitrous. Sure a turbo legend would be faster, if properly made but that route actually tends to be more expensive. Turbo, piping, bov, intercooler, aem ems, injectors, o-ringing the block, custom headers/exhaust, and tuning just to name a few things, all that is going to be quite a bit more than all the money I spent on my car. I guess it really just depends how fast you really want to make the legend, or if you'd be satisfied with 13's.

I dont plan on doing it myself, thanks tho. Im just looking for that performance from P&P. Id rather be safe and have someone do the work bc im sure il royally mess something up.

I thought he meant NOS... but i maybe wrong. Forced Induction isnt in my budget, and i doubt it will be anytime soon. Very hard to save thousands for me.

Man id definitely be satisfied with 13's. That puts you in another category.
NOS isnt what i had in mind... Ive seen alot of ppl blow there motors, and im sure doing it right you wont but i dk if id even feel comfortable taking the chance.
