wait, a lakeshore drive in MICHIGAN AS WELL? The one in chicago has no ice : )

That Ice is crazy though. Ive never seen anything like that that was naturally occurring.

Yeah that's on lake St. Claire in Grosse Pointe. The road is technically called "Jefferson ave" but for those 3 miles it's called Lake Shore Drive.
We got a few days of 45 degree weather last week so all the ice broke up and came on shore, other wise we sometimes see this in march when things start to thaw out.

it was pretty fun, but at some points I got scared like when I was standing on a sheet of ice by the water and my foot fell into the ice like 2 inches and another time when I was on the mountain and a bunch of those sheets all of a sudden shifted. You've got to tread really carefully on them. Interestingly when we were on there, a grandpa and his 5 year old grandson were walking on the ice right next to the water, and the kid didn't seem scared at all.

Very nice. I like how the ice just builds on top of each other. Some of them look like huge diamonds.
