yeah, thats what I said and no I didnt drive it hard............... well until the tranny started going out. anyway. I am 17. haha. and yeah I decided to keep the car and fix it and drive it till the headgaskets go and by then I should be able to afford a 3.5 swap with a five speed conversion too. because I'll never get another deal like this car again. Plus I had a bunch of offers last night that never got over $600. I cant get a car to replace it for that much and have it nice. I mean I should be able to afford the tranny in about two months, until then I can sit in it and pretend to drive it. Or drive it around the block in first gear. Thats all it has left and that slips bad.

Oh and I pulled the tranny pan and I've never seen so many metal shavings in one pan in my life. It would have been cool had it not been my car. and I found some ATF bottles in the trunk that said for use in Ford and most GM cars. Would putting the wrong fluid in cause this much damage? Or was this car horsebeat really really bad and should I be worried about headgaskets and other problems soon after the tranny gets replaced?

geez poor car... musta been through too many neutral drops.

It sounds like those bottles of ATF are Dextron?

And I'm assuming that the tranny fluid from the pan smelt burnt and was brownish/blackish?

Yeah it was Dex-merc, and yes it was burnt and all different kinds of disgusting. It was black enough to look like motor oil that went without being changed for 10,000 miles. The strainer was clogged with a black sludge mixed with pieces of metal. Good news is that I just found a 92 LS sedan with BHG and I might just see if I can buy his tranny for cheap. Its in town and I have access to lifts to get his out and put it in mine. Better than waiting for a JDM or going to the junkyard and laying in the dirt and pulling a tranny with the car a foot off the ground. and no proof that it actually works.
