Default Armor All?

I've heard that Armor All is not good for detailing the interior..

The question is, is it or is it not good to use Armor All?

If not, why is it not good?

And what do you and should you use instead of Armor All?

I met a chemist that used to work at dupont, he said armorall was the shizz.. and this guy is like 75.

Me personally, I use mequires 'low sheen' stuff, really sparinginly. Let it soak a sec, and go back over with a wet rag for an even lower sheen. I like new, new, look, not wet look, I save that for my 3 hairs!

People will say it cracks your dash, but I am not confident in those statments... I just don't like the wet look...

Armor All tends to leave an oily residue that makes dust and other particles stick to your dash and what not. If you like a gloss look, I suggest using Meguiars gold class leather conditioner on the seats, dash, and door panels. If you are like me, I like the natural look. I use Meguiars low sheen and quik interior detail. The best thing to do before using any of these detailers, is to clean the surface first with dish soap, warm water, and a clean rag. Another clean micro fiber cloth to dry, and then apply your prefered detailer.

+1 on Meguiar's quick interior detail spray. i've had a bottle for way over a year now and it's still like half way full and i use it like every 2 weeks. good deal if you ask me

Armor all leaves a greasy look and i've heard it will put your dash at risk to cracking. use whatever you like though

Agreed with the oily/greasy residue with Armor All. I used it a couple times and within a week my dash looks like it hasn't been dusted in a year. Certainly collects dust and small particles.

As far as it being damaging to the surfaces, I doubt it's enough to be concerned with. Perhaps using it for 15 years it might fade color or cause surface cracking, but I'd be surprised with major damage in short term.

+1 Meguiars everything

Meguiar's here. I used the Natural Shine, but I've tried their Hyper Dressing recently and that works well, too.

My suggestion is to clean it real well with warm water and dish soap. Dry it off. Then apply some gold class leather conditioner. Buff it in REAL good and let it sit for a day or 2. After a day or 2 clean it with the interior quik detailer. You might have to keep applying the leather conditioner to the dash, but, after a few times, this should help save the dash. Some damage cannot be fixed no matter what though. If you can get some pics in sunlight, I can help guide you a little better.

it's true i used armor all a few times and it drys it out and then it makes it crack easier when the sun is beating down on it. i just use a moist cloth and wipe my dash then dry it off
