Description
Updated July 28/2017-1995 Sedan L.
Name of car has been downgraded to...blu. Oleblue was the initial name before and now after a couple years the vision I had has come to fruition and Oleblue doesn't even apply anymore my Legend is so different. Many members on here and Facebook to thank for sure!
Purchased in 2004 (second G2 Legend- my first Legend I was not really an enthusiast, just kept it clean and it was already blowing out blue smoke when I bought it in 1999 which now I know all to well were the valve seals. I gave to my nephew as his first car when I bought Oleblue (now in 2015; just "blue" is the name) from original owner with 110K (close anyway).
Original color was Desert Mist which I really liked, but the paint started fading and peeling quickly-Tennessee sun most likely or a less than steller day at the factory when car was orginally painted in 1994, and subsequently in 2008, I had it painted a light shade of blue which is my fav Legend color. I set out to have it painted an oem color Twilight Blue, but when I got to paint shop, I 100% couldn't remember the name of color so I randomly chose Suzuka Blue. Which incidentally craziness, is the exact color of the famous light blue on the early S2000s. Still odd of all the colors of blue to choose from I chose that shade. But I definitely dig it.
Modest (less modest now-lil beastly now 04/2014) modifications include: Stromung on the way and will be selling my RemusLegendSpecificExhaust (officially a full exhaust system), OBX Headers (no cat ;.}, Stromung b pipe, WeaponR CAI...thanks Kelly, sr5guy stageIII ecu chip-thanks Matt!, aluminum lightweight crank pulleys-Thanks TJ, Abe, and Legendracer!!!. H&R lowering springs, Koni reds, Konig Oversteer wheels, Nitto Motivo 215/45/17 all season performance tires, tint, custom Legend seats-big thanks Kelly!!!.
Dec 2014-Type II intake manifold swapped in and getting a bored throttle body soon.
Jan 2015-Fut Tower Bar installed and what a difference in handling it has made.
**Mini bbk-Type2 calipers (red) and RL brackets-thanks Alan Jackson! 04/2014 Stoptech slotted rotors, and Hawk HPS brake pads.
****update Sept/Oct 2013: BHG/SHG/Valve Seals ... Oleblue overheating multiple times; blue and white smoke.
Found a member in my area finally... "Chopped," who is a jack of all trades at a Honda/Acura sales and repair in La Vergne, TN.
**So, top half engine rebuilt 10/2013 Runs terrifically now.
Lots of stuff to add now. Wow. 7/28/2017
4/2018--Yellow calipers from red which I was tired of and was surprised the yellow flowed as well as they do...IMHO anyway. Along with a lot of suspension work done. And new brake pads on all 4.
You sign up for a lot of shi* when you lower a 23 year old car and daily drive it. 321K currently on the odometer. Original C32a Type I/II cyborg hybrid and still runs well but most def has lost some compression.
***** Update:11/19/18 - I looked down the other night and quickly noticed 135mph at the 'track' with an 2014 ish Audi A4/5 non F1-almost 100% sure as I was eating his lunch and dinner.
All that to mentioned a couple months back my gas mileage went to pot and then the dreaded CEL reared its head. I'd never had a CEL ever and could not get the paper clip situated properly enough to read the CEL code as it was indicating nothing essentially from my Stage III ECU.
So, Alan Jackson on FB caught wind of my dire situation heha and sent me a plug to slip perfectly into my ECU plug.
I eventually after Alan actually called me got the ubiquitous Code 45 or 46 fuel metering and whichever # indicated the drivers side...had it replaced - no more CEL and POWER came back as I was struggling with 4 cyl Camry's and the like for several months.
Alan went on to suggest swapping out the Passenger side O2 - so I did. Zoomie zoom...for a slow car...lets be honest but a beast Legend if you will, and you better LMAO. So................. those were the ORIGINAL 02 SENSORS- 23 PLUS YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!
However future plans, I will need to rock a C35 swap by fall 2019 ISH. I still want a C32 but nobody agrees in the know on here since I have all the bolt ons required ECT ect ECT ect ECT........................ I love me some Legends, that is FOR SURE. Unique is the only way to go. And by ze way...............
Mike D or J Roose doing the deed most likely with the swap.
So long for now ;}

Paint finally getting real close. Looks like I've chosen a color from a BMW M2 - Laguna beach blue metallic. It jumped off the page and slapped me when I was browsing for paint colors.
***Also, I was 'given' a C35 for free about 2 hours out of Nashville that I have to somehow find a way to get a truck or perhaps a 2003 Jeep Liberty that was traded in to the lot I work for. The lady who owned it says it runs great and several things done to it just prior to trading it for a much newer Kia Forte. I may get it for 500 bux and just drive it daily frequently as blu needs a nice rest after 17 years of highly spirited driving and amazing how it has truly held up. Especially the transmission...my AT has been bulletproof for now 26 years.

The one pick of Ole Blue, in the middle of my office parking lot, is the shot to me that said, you did a pretty good job Midge on choosing the mods/goodies on Blue. Kinda that moment of arrival.
I'll tell ya though, with Legends, you could never get finished, ever, doing all the little subtle things we can do. E.g. like, switching out speedometer for example. |

A lot has to blu with a mistake of taking it to a shop that didn't know my Legend and had 'incompetent' techs.
They tried to rebuild part of my front-end and big mistake on my end. Left left nearly every bolt possible loose and let them install my new front shocks. They did put the proper bump stops on it made by Koni properly.
More later, but what I've been through getting blu put back to just normal with the front-end. |
